From Hollywood to McHappy Day: Katie Holmes in Australia to help raise funds
The Morning Show
Katie Holmes is best known for her role as Joey Potter on teen drama Dawson’s Creek.
After a string of hit movies and a couple of high-profile relationships, it's McHappy Day that has brought the actress to Australia for the first time in a decade.

Holmes is an ambassador for McHappy Day, the major annual fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
"I'm so excited to be an ambassador for McHappy Day and to be here in Sydney," Holmes told The Morning Show.
Ronald McDonald House's provide a range of programs to help families with seriously ill children stay together. In 2018 alone, assisted 57,000 families.
"It's a beautiful organisation...I've met some of the families and for them to be so generous of their time when they're going through such a difficult time, just means so much to me," Holmes said.
McHappy Day 2019 is on Saturday 16th November. $2 from every Big Mac sold on the day goes directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Stores are also selling limited edition bottles of Big Mac Special Sauce, Helping Hands and Silly Socks - or you can donate here.
"All that comes directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities so that we have the vital funds that we need to help those families that are going through the absolute toughest times in their life - to keep those families strong and together," Ronald McDonald House CEO Barbara Ryan said.
