Katie Holmes: Suri loves lip gloss

Katie Holmes and her daughter "always have fun with lip gloss".

The actress revealed that just as six-year-old Suri is developing an eye for fashion already, she is finding a love for cosmetics.

Katie is the new spokesperson for beauty brand Bobbi Brown and shared the role make-up plays in her private life with Suri.

"What I'm transmitting to my daughter [is] not to focus on looks," Katie revealed to the British edition of Glamour magazine.

"I mean, I enjoy dressing up and we will always have fun with lip gloss, but true beauty is about what's going on in your heart and head."

As Bobbi Brown's first ever ambassador, Katie described what she has learnt about make-up since signing up for the role. Katie shared the tricks that she's picked up from the iconic make-up guru, such as layering concealer and making blusher your best friend.

"I never really knew how to use concealer properly until I met Bobbi. She showed me how to tap corrector under concealer - the corrector erases the dark shadows, while the concealer blurs it all out," Katie continued. "Bobbi taught me to put it on [blusher] when you're tired - and to go upwards, towards the temples, not down, so it's not so severe."

Katie has suffered the occasional beauty blunder in the past. She says that it is only by making mistakes that you know what products work for you.

"Through trial and error, I've found nude lipstick is much better than dark," Katie revealed.

"I use the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Shadow to master the five-second day-to-night trick. I use this pencil to throw on a smoky eye - it's impossible to mess up. I also love the Shimmer Brick compact. It's so easy, even without a brush. I just put it on with my fingers."

This week it was revealed that the actress-turned-designer will not be showing her latest Holmes & Yang collection at New York Fashion Week this season. As reported by WWD, it is not clear why she has chosen to bow out of the chance to show her creations at the prestigious fashion event.

"Katie Holmes will be sitting out next month's New York Fashion Week," the publication reported.
