Angelina Jolie's stirring speech at the
Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday has resonated with people all across the
country, including actress Katie Holmes.
The 36-year-old performer and mother -- who attended the Kids' Choice Awards with her eight-year-old daughter Suri Cruise -- spoke with ET at the New York premiere of her upcoming drama Woman in Gold, and she opened up about the impact Jolie has had on her personally.
"Well I'm such a fan of Angelina. And I think she's incredible in all aspects of her life," Holmes told ET. "I think she's just an inspiration. And her speech just, you know, topped it off."
At the awards, Angelina used her time on stage -- after winning the award for Best Villain for her role in Maleficent -- to share her thoughts on life.
"I wanna say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different," she shared. "Never good at fitting in, and then I realized something, something I hope you all realize -- different is good."
Jolie's inspirational speech also had an impact on author Lori Duron, who penned a heartfelt op-ed for ETonline. "As the mother of a child who is different, I can't get enough of Angelina Jolie," Duron writes. "Every time she publicly and proudly says or shows that it's okay to be different, I am grateful."
