Video: Katie Holmes Talks About 'Fun' With Suri At 'The Extra Man' Premiere

Etertainment Tonight

ET was at the New York City premiere of Katie Holmes and Kevin Kline's new sophisticated comedy 'The Extra Man' on Monday night, where Katie dished about bringing daughter Suri to work!

"I bring my daughter with me and we just are -- we're just busy and we make it work," Katie says, adding, "It's fun."

Kevin shared why he was first drawn to his eccentric new role. "When I read the script it made me laugh … the character was utterly original and very funny, and I couldn't wait to do it," Kevin says of playing a social escort for New York's wealthiest widows.

'The Extra Man,' opening in theaters on July 30, follows Louis Ives (Paul Dano), a lonely dreamer who fancies himself the hero of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. After moving to New York City, Ives rents a room in the apartment of Henry Harrison (Kline), a penniless and eccentric playwright. When Henry's not dancing alone to obscure music or singing operettas, he's an "extra man," a social escort for the wealthy widows of Manhattan high society.
