Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes arrive at Essendon airport

Herald Sun - Australia

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes flew into Essendon Airport today and have now arrived at their private suite at Crown.

The family's jet landed at Essendon airport just before noon.

It was boarded by Customs officials, who were on the aircraft for around 10 minutes.

The plane was then led into an executive hangar, where the star couple disembarked.

Cruise, wearing trademark aviator sunglasses, walked off the plane with three-year-old daughter Suri in his arms.

The family left the airport in a white Audi 4WD, with a sedan travelling in front.

After taking the Citylink tollway, they arrived at Crown, where they drove into an underground car park at a VIP entrance.

Their convoy was later followed by two black vans carrying the family's luggage.

The Hollywood couple will be housed in a private suite at Crown with their daughter Suri for the duration of their Australian trip.

James Packer flew to Melbourne yesterday, reportedly to prepare the suite for their arrival.

The Packers' private jet was at Essendon airport yesterday with a cheerful-looking Packer spotted at Crown Towers.

The media-turned-gambling tycoon is understood to be leaving nothing to chance for the Cruise and Holmes visit.

The Cruise clan and the Packers are close friends, with a shared interest in Scientology.

Crown has increased its security in readiness for the power couple's arrival.

Holmes and her daughter Suri were offered the billionaire's top floor Crown Towers home after being unable to find a home large enough and with enough security to accommodate their needs.

Holmes is due in Australia to film the movie "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark."

The Docklands studio where she will film with Australian actor Guy Pearce will be a media-free zone.
