Katie Holmes Reveals What She Would Wear in a Fashion Week Snowstorm
By Kelsey Glein
Katie Holmes kicked off New York Fashion Week at JCPenney’s Modern Day Fairy Tale celebration yesterday, where she revealed how she prefers to dress for the exceedingly frigid weather.
The one item that’s going to get Holmes through the winter days to come? “In this weather, a warm coat,” she tells InStyle. And, the actress revealed just what outfit she’d be wearing if she wasn’t busy hitting up fashion week events: “I would be wearing on of those hats that has so much fake fur that you can’t really even see,” Holmes says. “And a full length coat with knee high boots. A big huge puffer, like an Eskimo.”
The soiree celebrated JCPenney’s exclusive retail collaboration with Disney’s upcoming film "Cinderella," a live-action feature film inspired by the classic story. At the event, ten students from the Fashion School at Kent State University live sketched their design interpretation of a modern day fairy tale look, using Cinderella’s actual dress from the film as inspirtation.
“I’m going to a couple of shows in the next few days, which I’m excited about. This event is a great way to kick off fashion week, supporting these young, fresh designers,” Holmes shares. “I love that JCPenney is supporting these young designers, and I’m happy to be a part of it. It’s always inspiring to see a new group of people with a new set of ideas getting started. It’s really exciting.”
