Katie Holmes shoots in Montreal
Her co-star in The Gift, Patrick Stewart, is also in town

British actor Patrick Stewart and American actress Katie Holmes have been in Montreal for a few days to shoot a film entitled The Gift, Le Journal has learned.
It is a Quebec director, Claude Lalonde, who is in charge of this film, which will be shot in different places in the metropolis until mid-July. American actor Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) is also part of the cast.
Claude Lalonde is known in the Quebec film industry for working as a screenwriter for several successful films, including Les 3 P'tits Cochons, Filière 13 and 10 ½. The Gift will be his first film as director.
Known for his roles as legendary captain Jean-Luc Picard, in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Professor Xavier in some X-Men saga films, Sir Patrick Stewart has not gone unnoticed since posing his Suitcases in Montreal. He was particularly noted during the weekend of the Grand Prix, while he rose to the podium to drink champagne in the shoe of the Australian pilot Daniel Ricciardo. He also recently confirmed his presence at the Comiccon de Montréal on July 9th.
As for Katie Holmes - Tom Cruise's ex-wife - she was photographed on Tuesday morning in the streets of Montreal by a photographer from the British Daily Mail. According to the newspaper article, Katie Holmes traveled to Quebec with her daughter Suri, born from her union with Tom Cruise.
Holmes, 38, recently toured with Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock (in Ocean's Eight) the highly anticipated feminine remake of Ocean's Eleven that will take place next year. She also played the role of Jackie Kennedy in the television series The Kennedys.
