Anne Hathaway Hosts "Saturday Night Live"

NBC Bay Area & The Daily Mail - UK

If Katie Holmes ever guests on “Saturday Night Live,” is there a chance she’ll spoof Anne Hathaway for revenge?

On last night’s "SNL," host Hathaway portrayed Holmes on “The Miley Cyrus Show” and did an impression of the actress down to Holmes’ voice and actions. She endured a barrage of questions, including ones about her film roles, Tom Cruise and Scientology from exuberant host Miley Cyrus (Vanessa Bayer).

What will Tom say? Anne Hathaway mocked Katie Holmes by talking in a breathy voice
and tucking her hair behind her ear in a skit on Saturday Night Live

Speaking in breathy tones and constantly tucking her hair behind her ear, the actress had the audience in stitches as she played Tom Cruise's wife.

She even managed to keep a straight face as she looked coyly up and down and cocked her mouth to one side while speaking.

Hathaway, 28, took on the role of Holmes as she hosted SNL for the second time in two years.

The skit saw the "Batman Begins" star being interviewed by an overly-excited Miley Cyrus, played by SNL regular Vanessa Bayer.

During the interview, which saw regular interruptions from Miley's father Billy (played by Jason Sudeikis), the pop star asked Holmes about her role in "Dawson's Creek."

'The character Joey was such a joy to play,' she said, breathing loudly. 'On the surface she just seemed like another cute popular girl, but beneath it she was this incredibly complicated and intelligent woman.'

Spot on: Anne mocked Katie Holmes' lop-sided way of speaking

Hathaway took part in a series of sketches during her hotly-anticipated SNL appearance.

Other skits saw her play singer Alanis Morissette in a movie soundtrack advert and dress up as Dorothy for the 'lost scenes' from the "Wizard of Oz."

The "Princess Diaries" star also played a witness to a shooting, a hyperactive shopper and a volunteer in a Thanksgiving soup kitchen.
