Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx Are Going Strong: 'When They Can Spend Time Together, They Do'

By Ale Russian

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes didn’t let the chilly New York City weather cool down their romance.

The Oscar winner, 51, and the 40-year-old actress—whose low-key romance dates back to 2013—bundled up for a walk in Central Park in late March. The stroll marked yet another public outing for the duo, who have been seen out and about together a few times in the last months.

“When they can spend time together, they do. When they’re busy and they can’t, they don’t. They are two adults who enjoy each other’s company and have for a long time.” a source tells PEOPLE in the latest issue.

The typically low-key pair also visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art while in New York City together this week.

“Katie and Jamie see each other as frequently as they can,” a source told PEOPLE in January. “They have known each other for years, and both turned out to be great parents, so they also have that in common. They are dedicated to their careers. Plus they give each other space.”

Foxx and Holmes have been taking their romance a bit more public in recent months, even wrapping up 2018 with a Dec. 28 yacht outing in Miami, and riding a pair of Jet Skis the next day.

The couple’s Florida fun came weeks after they were seen in New York City together. Holmes and Foxx were joined by Holmes’ mother, Kathleen A. Stothers-Holmes, to celebrate Holmes’ 40th birthday on Dec. 18. The group stopped by popular dessert destination Serendipity 3, where they enjoyed a strawberry sundae and frozen hot chocolates.

The actors were first seen dancing together in 2013 in the Hamptons, a year after Holmes and ex-husband Tom Cruise, 56, called it quits.
