Katie Holmes, Jason Segel Not Dating

How Jason Segel Met Suri's Mother? Not really. OK! magazine recently reported that Jason Segel and Katie Holmes have been casually dating after meeting on the set of his now-concluded sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" back in 2011, when Holmes, 35, filmed a guest-starring role.

"The story is completely untrue," Holmes' rep Leslie Sloane tells Us Weekly. "The two have not spoken since she appeared on "How I Met Your Mother"."

Had the romance been a bonafide one, Holmes would have been the second "Dawson's Creek" alum to date Segel, 34 -- he and Holmes' costar Michelle Williams dated for a year before a February 2013 split. Segel has been busy promoting the March 31 series finale of the CBS comedy and his latest film "Sex Tape:' with Cameron Diaz.

Tom Cruise's ex-wife also has her hands full with her return to TV in a new, untitled "high society drama" where she'll play a "well-bred and educated woman." The single mom to Suri, 7, also appears alongside Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, and Taylor Swift in "The Giver," out August 15.
