Katie Holmes is a 'funny, loving girl'
Us Weekly
11/3/12
You would never know Katie Holmes had
endured a recent, painful, high-profile divorce the way she carries herself at
work.
A source tells Us Weekly the actress, 33, is making quite the impression on her "Dead Accounts" costars, including Norbert Leo Butz, Judy Greer and Josh Hamilton. (Dead Accounts marks Holmes' first Broadway gig since she appeared in "All My Sons" in 2008).
Prior to the start of rehearsals this summer, "People thought they would have to step on egg shells [around her]," the insider tells Us. "She's got her personal stuff going on, but she leaves that at the door. [And] behind the scenes she's a funny, loving girl, not an ounce of diva in her."
Holmes' sweet personality has made it easy for her to form fast friendships with the play's cast and crew, the source adds.
"The Kennedys" star "has been eating her lunches with the rest of the cast," the source reveals. "They've all really bonded." Indeed, on Thursday, Holmes and Hamilton, 43, were photographed hanging out in NYC during a rehearsal break.
The "Dead Accounts" team got back to work Wednesday after Hurricane Sandy forced their rehearsal space to close Monday and Tuesday, and push back show previews until Monday, Nov. 5.
Though they lost power during the hurricane, a pal tells Us Holmes and her daughter Suri, 6, rode out the superstorm in their posh NYC apartment, located in the city's Chelsea neighborhood.
The Huffington Post reports that the Holmes & Yang designer and her little girl have since left their powerless (and waterless!) apartment and relocated to The Mark Hotel, located on the Upper East Side.
