Katie Holmes joins hubby Tom Cruise at work in Vancouver

Actress braved an early-morning spin class at a local gym Thursday

A sweaty Katie Holmes was spotted at a Vancouver gym this morning, and later shopping on Robson Street, dashing media reports this week that her marriage with Tom Cruise is on the rocks.

The actress arrived quietly in Hollywood North earlier this week to spend time with her hubby, who is in town filming "Mission Impossible 4." Their daughter, Suri, 4, is also in town.

The couple has been lying low at a downtown Vancouver hotel.

The "Batman Begins" star was seen pedalling furiously at a 6:30 a.m. spin class at Steve Nash Fitness World & Sports Club on Granville Street.

News of her sighting was first published on local gossip website, LainyGossip.com.

The source, Katy from Vancouver -- who was at the gym class with Holmes -- told The Vancouver Sun that the star sat at the back of the dimly lit class, dressed in black leggings and a T-shirt, with her hair up in a bun.

"She looked very unassuming," says Katy. " She had no makeup on and her hair was up in a bun. I had to do a double-take to realize it was her."

Holmes waited until fellow riders filtered out of the hour-long class before making her exit with a bodyguard dressed in jeans, who stood nearby.

"She commented to her body guard that she sweated through her T-shirt," said Katy. "It was a really good class."

Just this afternoon, Holmes was spotted shopping on Robson Street.

Holmes's visit to Vancouver dashes tabloid reports that the Hollywood couple's marriage is heading towards splitsville.

'Fed-Up Katie Leaving Tom,' declared this week's cover story on Star magazine. The article went on to say the couple have been leading separate lives, with Tom hard at work with filming, and Katie returning to Ohio to spend time with her family.

However, Gossip Cop reported Thursday that Holmes's rep declared the article "absolutely false."

Tom Cruise arrived in Vancouver in early December on his private jet, and has flown back to the U.S. on at least two occasions.

Filming of the blockbuster action flick has mainly been taking place at Canada Motion Picture Park, where scenes for "Twilight," "Fantastic Four" and "'X-Men" were shot. His death-defying stunts will also take place throughout numerous locations locations in Metro Vancouver in the new year.
