Katie Holmes Shares Her Stocking Stuffer Go-To
(But Don’t Worry, She Hasn’t Started Holiday Shopping Yet)

By Elise Taylor

Katie Holmes may be supporting a new line of holiday toys at FAO Schwarz—but don’t worry. Like most mere mortals, she has no idea what she’s putting under the tree.

“My god, I haven’t even started!” she said, when Vogue asked about her shopping plans. “But I always think candy is a great stocking stuffer—I love Sugarfina. The sour hearts and sour lips.”

That night, the actress was the belle of Bergdorf Goodman, one of the many pop-up locations where the toys will be sold. She says she’s loved FAO Schwarz since she was a kid. (“I spent a lot of time playing Barbie dolls.”) It’s a run-of-the-mill statement from a celebrity endorser, but in Holmes’s case, it’s sincere: In the past decade, Holmes, and her oh-so-stylish daughter, Suri, have been spotted hitting up the toy hot spot again, and again, and again. “She has a lot of the stuffed animals and a lot of toys,” Holmes says. “We designed one of the dollhouses together.”

The toy collection, which includes modern yet nostalgia-infused trinkets like toy bumper cars and a roller coaster set, wasn’t the only debut that night. Holmes, who wore a floral Ralph Lauren wrap dress, showed off her new pixie haircut for the first time officially in public.

“It’s actually for a movie I’m starting to shoot next week called Doorman,” she said. “I felt like it was appropriate for the role.”

Short hair, but do care—her support of FAO Schwarz will also benefit children’s nonprofit KaBoom!
