Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes have apparently struck up an unlikely friendship, and are even thinking of working together.

While Katie and Tom Cruise are battling things out in the courtroom, it seems Katie has found an unlikely ally in Tom's other ex, Nicole Kidman.

It seems that the two women have struck up a friendship, talking to each other on the phone about their lives and careers.

A source told National Enquirer: "(They had) a really nice conversation. They talked a little about what it was like being married to Tom and have stayed in touch ever since.

"They haven't discussed intimate issues like sex, and mostly chit chat about their kids and what's going on in their lives."

The two women have apparently even spoken about the possibility of working together on a film in the future, with the source adding that it would "blow people's minds" to have two of Tom's ex-wives working together on the same film. We wonder what type of movie they would decide to do.

Sounds like Katie could do with a good friend to talk to right now, as Tom is currently in a legal battle against two magazines in the US over allegations he "abandoned" their daughter Suri following their split last summer. Evidence has been brought up to suggest Katie's team was in touch with the paparazzi and had been feeding stories to the press about the actor's penchant to spoil their little girl, while failing to speak out to defend Cruise against the bad parenting allegations.
