Katie Holmes reveals medical ambition
Belfast Telegraph - UK
Katie Holmes would love to be a doctor - even though she doesn't like blood.
The actress has made a name for herself in Hollywood, starring in films such as "Batman Begins."
Had her acting career not gone to plan, Katie knows which alternative job she would have pursued.
"I would be a doctor," she told the British edition of OK! magazine.
"I would be a specialist in cancer because so many people are affected and it's such a huge epidemic. But I'd probably have to master in physics. I don't like blood - but it's a nice thought."
The 33-year-old has taken on a role in Broadway show "Dead Accounts," which opened last night.
Katie is very excited about the dark comedy, which is written by Theresa Rebeck, creator of TV show Smash.
"I just think her [Theresa's] writing is wonderful, because the characters are so real," she gushed.
"And they're going through things that we as the audience really recognise. So I'm very excited to work with everyone. I don't know, you're in your dressing room, and it's Saturday night on Broadway! It's really exciting."
The play tells the story of a brother and sister and a surprise reunion that turns their family upside down.
The show features a lot of food, and one of the best things for Katie was tucking into all the treats on stage.
"Those chilli dogs! But we have to eat a lot in this play. We are contractually obligated!" she joked.
