This is the first, full-length version of Air New Zealand's new safety video: A Fantastical Journey.
Starring Hollywood actors Katie Holmes and Cuba Gooding Jr., the four-minute clip debuted on Tuesday evening and is the latest in a long line of celebrity campaigns for the carrier.
Depicting the two stars as mythical Gods who explore the famed country, it takes the viewer through a number of the best locations, including: the Southern Alps, Otago – including Dunedin and the Moeraki Boulders - plus the Conway River in Canterbury.
It also features Cathedral Cove in the Coromandel, Tolaga Bay north of Gisborne, White Island and the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
As the scenery tour begins, two cabin crew staff talk the viewer through the standard safety procedures, before thanking them for being part of the 'fantastical journey'.
The clip ends with Gooding Jr. and Holmes approving the narrative from the skies.
'I was really excited to be a part of this project – the safety video is creative, magical and funny. The scenery is also beautiful and makes me want to get down to New Zealand!' said Holmes.
Meanwhile, Cuba Gooding Jr. says he wanted to get involved in the project because he does a lot of travelling and appreciated the humour in the script.
'They make you laugh, smile and pay a little bit more attention,' he said.
Holmes is best known for her roles in Batman Begins and the long running hit TV series Dawson’s Creek, while Cuba Gooding Jnr. is known for his roles in the Netflix series American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
He also appeared in movies such as Jerry McGuire, which won him an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
Air New Zealand General Manager of Global Brand and Content Marketing Jodi Williams says A Fantastical Journey will put all eyes on New Zealand by showcasing some of the best the country has to offer.
'Our latest safety video takes viewers on a journey taking in New Zealand’s stunning beauty, incredible culture, friendly people and amazing flora and fauna, while also sharing the airline’s key safety messages.
'We’ve taken a different approach creatively with our latest safety video, working closely with our creative agency True, and Auckland-based production company Assembly throughout the process on the special effects to help take people on a magical tour of the country.'
Not that this is the first time Air New Zealand’s safety videos have garnered attention. Together, they've collectively generated more than 108 million views online to date.
Last year, supermodel Rachel Hunter starred alongside Game Of Thrones' Jo Naufahu in a tongue-in-cheek safety video for the airline.
In the video, Rachel is seen cruising along in a blue Volkswagen Beetle before stopping to chat to a group of passengers in a nearby car.
