The Girl Next Door
Kate Ceberano, Gypsy, set for play date with Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise
Herald Sun - Australia
Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise have playpals waiting for them here in Melbourne: fellow Scientologists Kate Ceberano and daughter Gypsy.
Holmes, her superstar husband Tom Cruise and their three-year-old daughter are set to arrive in Melbourne later this month.
Ceberano was already a friend of Cruise, but said she was keen to spend time with Holmes when she arrived to begin filming horror flick "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark."
"I'd love to meet her properly," Ceberano said. "They are Mr and Mrs America. They are great people and it will be lovely for Melbourne to be able to have that interaction with these kinds of people."
The "It Takes Two" star, who affirmed her dedication to Scientology when she lived in Los Angeles in the 1990s, sang for fellow Scientologist Cruise at his birthday party in 2005.
But Ceberano said she had met Holmes only briefly at the private event. She said she looked forward to Gypsy, 5, meeting Suri, arguably the world's most famous toddler.
"Wouldn't that be magic and fun? Let's get them in town and see if they give me a call."
Ceberano will be among a host of stars, including Iva Davies and Icehouse, Mick Molloy, Dan Sultan, Ross Wilson and Joe Camilleri, taking part in the Heart of St Kilda Concert, to raise funds for the Sacred Heart Mission, at the Palais Theatre tonight.
