CLEVELAND, Ohio With all the hype surrounding fall films like "Gone Girl," "Interstellar" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay," Katie Holmes has managed to float under the radar.

Her new film, "Miss Meadows," which was shot in Cleveland last year, is set to open in limited theaters on Nov. 14. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City this past April.

"Miss Meadows" stars Holmes as a lovable substitute teacher who spends her free time killing predators in her community. The dark comedy was written and directed by Karen Leigh Hopkins, who wrote the Julia Roberts film "Stepmom," and produced by Eric Brenner and Rob Carliner, the team behind the Oscar-winning "Crazy Heart."

Several of the film's scenes were shot in Cleveland's University Circle area. Holmes was spotted walking around Tremont with her daughter, Suri Cruise, in August 2013.
